Keno Strategies That Work

It will not often be looked at as the funnest game in the realm of gaming, but keno has millions of steadfast fans. And so it should! It’s a constantly exciting lottery-type game that’s a snap to master, abundantly available in a number of alternate variations, and one that will yield millions for those who learn its numerous subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the beginner’s rules for now.

When explaining keno to amateurs, some gambling connoisseurs compare it to lotto. This is at least tolerably apt, in that each game is generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far can be to minimize the endless unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the freedom to select the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the player is given an extra level of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as he thinks is appropriate. And it doesn’t take a genius to ascertain how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your chosen numbers with a good oldmarker like you had when you were in grade 3.

Now that you’ve marked your numbers, carry your card back to the nice person at the keno booth. The nice person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Do not misplace this (potentially) lucrative piece of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your face and wants help out, without a winning slip with you, you will win exactly $.00 for your time spent.

Ok, there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s get on to something a little bit more complex, what do you think?

After you’ve marked your numbers, get into a nice keno booth and see the action take place on the screen. That’s where the winning numbers appear for us. If you selected winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to take your time, or sit there congratulating yourself for too great a length of time. You need to get back to the keno stand to collect your winnings, since a new round of keno will almost certainly get going within five minutes.

Strategy number two: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!

Assuming you can’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each time, you always retain the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from two to twenty tickets. When the maximum amount of rounds (fitting the number of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your numb butt and go redeem your winnings.

Yet an additional option is known as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which commonly lets you make number picks for 30 keno games or more. Hell, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to fret about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" slips are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!

And now you have learned a couple of indispensable methods for winning keno. If you are a skillful keno player, they might seem to be quite obvious. But it will not hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a novice player, every bit of information will help make your keno betting more exciting.
