Keno Methods That Work

It won’t often be deemed the funnest game in the realm of gambling, but keno has millions and millions of devout followers. And why not? It’s a regularly entertaining lotto-type game that’s a snap to master, abundantly available in a number of alternate formats, and one that may return millions of dollars for people who learn its uncounted subtle intricacies. But let’s start with the basics here.

When describing keno to newcomers, some betting connoisseurs compare it to bingo. This is at least to some extent correct, in that each game is essentially numerical. But to take that comparison too far can be to minimize the good many unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno gamblers have the power to choose the numbers for every card.

Keno cards have a grand total of 80 numbers, but the player is granted an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to choose as numerous (or as few) numbers as he feels they need. And it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark each of your selected numbers with a normalball point pen like you had when you were in school.

Once you have picked your numbers, take your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The clerk will record those numbers and then hand you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) lucrative bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning receipt with you, you will win exactly $.00 for your efforts.

OK, so there you have strategy numero uno: always take care to keep your keno ticket. Let us go on to something a bit more useful, yes?

Now that you’ve picked out your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and observe the action unfold on a big video monitor. This is where the winning numbers show up in lights. If you picked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Make sure not to drag your feet, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You are required to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, since a new drawing will likely begin within 5 minutes.

Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!

Assuming you don’t trust yourself to meet that 5 minute margin each time, you always have the option of purchasing a "multi-race" card. These include the very same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty cards. When the maximum amount of games (fitting the number of tickets) is completed, you can then get off your numb butt and go retrieve your winnings.

Another alternative is recognized as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number picks for 30 rounds or more. Heck, you can take all the time in the world and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" game tickets are good for up to a whole year after you by it!

So now you have learned a number of essential techniques for winning keno. If you are an accomplished player, they may seem to be quite obvious. But it will not hurt to bone up on the basics, and if you are a new keno player, every bit of information will help make your keno gambling more enjoyable.
